Hello Mulholland Heights Neighborhood Watch -
I wanted to give you a few updates regarding the Mulholland Heights Neighborhood Watch.
1) Please join us on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30PM for our next Mulholland Heights
Neighborhood Watch Meeting. Detective Peck from the Lost Hill Sheriff's Station will be
speaking to us about recent crimes in Calabasas and the neighboring communities. He will
also inform us of how we can better protect ourselves/our homes and how we can improve
our Neighborhood Watch. The meeting will be held at my house @ 3524 Via Del Prado.
Please RSVP so I can get a count of how many will be attending.
2) It was brought to my attention that there have been three different homeless individuals
walking or riding a bicycle in our community. This is a sensitive subject, because it is not
illegal to be homeless. However, the police and our security are aware of the three
individuals that have been seen. If you feel threatened by someone that you see in our park
or walking our streets, you can call our security or the Lost Hills Police Dept. As we all
know, homelessness is incredibly prevalent now, all over Los Angeles. It's a difficult topic to
address, but this is a subject that Detective Peck will discuss at our meeting.
3) Neighbor Rick Shillander sent me the following article about a recent burglary trend in our
neighboring communities: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/dozens-of-chilean-
tourists-tied-to-robberv-spree-in-southern-california-police-sav/ar-BBWfF9x?li=BBnb7Kz .
IMPORTANT SAFETY TIPS:
-Always keep your home's doors and windows locked when you go to bed or leave your
house, even if you are leaving for a short period. Always lock the door between your garage
and home.
-An alarm, RING camera, cameras inside and outside your house, glass breaking sensor
alarms and locked gates are great methods to protect your home.
-Always remember to close your car windows, take any valuables out of your car and lock
your doors every time you exit your vehicle, even if your vehicle is parked in your driveway.
-In our neighborhood, very few people come to our door and ring our doorbell. If someone
comes to your door that you do not know, let them know you are home, but do not open the
door. If they act suspiciously and ask for someone that does not live there, or if they say
they have the wrong house, call Terry/Keone and the Police immediately. THIS IS WHAT
THEY DO when they are casing our homes, our community.

Mulholland Heights Neighborhood Watch - Update...
-If you see a suspicious person walking around in our neighborhood or if you see a
suspicious car (no license plate, old style paper plates, tinted windows, etc), notify Terry or
the Police immediately. I know we don't want to be paranoid, but let's be AWARE and
OBSERVANT.
I also wanted to list important phone numbers for Mulholland Heights so that you have them
handy. Please keep these in your phone so that you are ready to call the Sheriff at a
moment's notice. If you see something, say something! The Sheriff is VERY responsive to
our calls when we see something suspicious.
